The Drinkaware Trust as a registered charity is governed by a Board of Trustees comprising of both Health professionals and Industry. The Board’s role is to ensure Governance, maintain independence and deliver the charities strategic objectives. These are to positively change public behaviour and the national drinking culture in the UK in order to reduce alcohol misuse and minimise alcohol related harm. The board includes lay trustees, those with no professional interest but who bring along valuable expertise from other sectors.

The Drinkaware Trust, Chairman

Derek Lewis - Chairman, Protocol Associates
Protocol Associates are a leading provider of education and training services. Derek is also a Pro-Chancellor of the University of Essex and a trustee of WRVS. He has previously had extensive senior management experience in both the public and private sectors.

Health / Alcohol  Professionals

Dr Michael Wilks - Chairman, Representative Body, British Medical Association
Michael works as a forensic physician with the Metropolitan Police, and is Chairman of the Trustees of RAPT (the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust).

Professor David Foxcroft - School of Health and Social Care, Oxford Brookes University
A Registered Nurse, Chartered Psychologist and prevention scientist with expertise in the prevention of alcohol misuse, David has advised the British Government and the World Health Organisation on alcohol misuse prevention for young people.

Srabani Sen - Chief Executive, Contact A Family
Srabani is CEO of Contact a Family, a charity which supports the families of disabled children. Formerly CEO of Alcohol Concern, she was a member of the initial stakeholder group which developed the Drinkaware Trust.

Dr Nick Sheron - Head of Clinical Hepatology, Southampton General Hospital
Nick has been consultant physician in liver disease since 1993. He also runs an active clinically based research programme at the University of Southampton, in the area of alcohol-related problems.

Carolyn Bradley - Commercial Director, TESCO Stores Limited
Carolyn is responsible for added value foods at TESCO including Beers, Wines and Spirits and Chilled and Bakery divisions.

Tim Clarke - Chief Executive, Mitchells & Butlers plc
Tim has been in the pub industry for 17 years. Mitchells and Butlers are the largest managed pub and pub restaurant operator in the UK with over 2000 outlets and employing some 44,000 staff.

John Dunsmore - Chairman and Managing Director, Scottish & Newcastle UK
John has extensive experience in the drinks industry and has been Chairman and Managing Director of Scottish & Newcastle UK since 2003. During this time, John has developed S&N's responsible drinking strategy and has overseen the introduction of a number of initiatives to improve consumer awareness. John is currently Chairman of the British Beer and Pub Association and a member of The Portman Group Council.

Nick Grant - Head of Legal Services, Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd
Nick has led Sainsbury’s implementation of the Licensing Act including its THINK 21 scheme. He also chairs the cross industry Retail of Alcohol Standards Group.

Benet Slay - Managing Director, DIAGEO Great Britain
Diageo is the world's leading premium drinks business. Benet has an extensive commercial background in consumer goods both in GB and abroad.

Jason Stockwood - Managing Director, Match.com
Match.com is the world's biggest online dating site. Jason Joined Match.com in March 2007 from online travel brand Travelocity where he was Managing Director of Travelocity Business EMEA.

Dominic Fry - Consultant, Tulchan
Tulchan is one of the UK's leading financial public relations consultancies. He was previously Group Communications Director of ScottishPower plc and before that, of J Sainsbury plc.
